  4.                   (Applies to ReachOut Versions 4.X / 5.X)

  8.       The REACHOUT.INI found in the Windows directory contains entries
  9.       that ReachOut uses to establish parameters. These settings
  10.       contain either characters or numbers that hold the last settings
  11.       used by ReachOut from itÆs different menu and screen selections.
  12.       Some of the entries can be changed using any text editor that do
  13.       not get set by any of ReachOut's menus or screens. Caution should
  14.       be used when editing this document as incorrect or opposing
  15.       settings may cause ReachOut to fail. This document contains a
  16.       listing of entries for ReachOut vers. 4.X and 5.X, entries
  17.       invalid for ver. 4.X are indicated by a * , entries invalid for
  18.       ver. 5.X are indicated by a ^. In the listing below, the
  19.       notations meanings are:
  20.        0 means No, False, or Off      1 or -1 means Yes,True, or On
  21.        string means any valid string  X means any valid integer number
  22.       In the REACHOUT.INI any negative numbers where a 0/1 is indicated
  23.       is interpreted as a 1.
  24.       A -32768 number found in the REACHOUT.INI indicates a maximized
  25.       window setting.
  26.       Entries that must be inserted or changed manually are indicated
  27.       by a ++.
  28.       
  29.       [ReachOut.ui]       Settings that apply to HOSTMENU.EXE
  30.       program
  31.       MinimizeOnStartUp=0/1  Minimize HostMenu on startup.
  32.       Hide=0/1            Whether HostMenu can be seen by the user.
  33.       ChatW=X             Width of the chat window in pixels.
  34.       ChatH=X             Height of the chat window in pixels.
  35.       ChatX=X             X horizontal coordinate of the top-left corner 
  36.                           of the chat window.
  37.       ChatY=X             Y vertical coordinate of the top-left corner
  38.                           of the chat window.
  39.       LinkSel=X           PhoneBook index.Used to log which phone book
  40.                           entry used last.
  41.       LinkNumber=string   Use to remember which phone number was
  42.                           last entered.
  43.       DisableClip=0/1     Disable / Enable Viewer access to the
  44.                           Host's clipboard.
  45.       
  46.       [RchFile]           Settings apply to RCHFILE.EXE program
  47.       MinimizeOnStartUp=0/1++ Minimize File Manager on Host on
  48.                               startup.
  49.       
  50.       [System]            Global setting for all ReachOut programs
  51.       rchpath=string      Path to ReachOut batch files, must end
  52.                           with a "\"
  53.       AuditLogWarnSizeK=X*++  The size of the Audit Log file before
  54.                               giving a warning when hostmenu is
  55.                               started. Default = 500K
  56.       AuditLogWarn=0/1*++ Whether or not to display Audit Log
  57.                           Warning on Hosts startup.
  58.       NoCriticalSection=0/1++ Determines if timercriticalsection
  59.                               statement will be put into the
  60.                               system.ini during installation.

  62.       [RchDLL]            Settings apply to RCHDLL.DLL (viewer)
  63.       Scale=0/1*          Whether or not to scale the Host display

  89.                           (in ver. 5.X a setting of 0 for Compression 
  90.                           takes precedence and negates this setting)
  91.       Sound=0/1           Whether sound is on or off.
  92.       SaveOptionsOnExit=0/1 Whether to save user preference on exit.
  93.       VirusChecking=0/1   Whether virus checking is on.
  94.       FileSize=0/1        Whether to display file size.
  95.       FileDate=0/1        Whether to display file date.
  96.       FileTime=0/1        Whether to display file time.
  97.       FileAttributes=0/1  Whether to display file attributes.
  98.       FileName=0/1        Whether to display file names only.
  99.       ViewDirectory=0/1   Whether to display the directory tree.
  100.       LocalPattern=string Local directory filter (i.e. *.* would

  118.       DragAndDrop=0/1     Whether drag and drop confimation is on.

  139.                           responded, before the terminal emulator is started.
  140.       AutoView=0/1++      Automatically go to view when the connect
  141.                           button is pressed.
  142.       ChatW=X             Width of the chat window in pixels.
  143.       ChatH=X             Height of the chat window in pixels.
  144.       ChatX=X             Horizontal coordinate of the top-left corner
  145.                           of the chat window.
  146.       ChatY=X             Vertical coordinate of the top-left corner of

  148.       LinkSel=X           PhoneBook index.  Used to remember which

  154.       SpoolFile=string    Name of the printer spool file.

  157.       X=X                 Horizontal coordinate of the top-left corner
  158.                           of the Viewer window in pixels.

  161.       Width=X             Width of the Viewer window in pixels.
  162.       Height=X            Height of the Viewer window in pixels.
  163.       Maximized=0/1       Whether the Viewer is maximized.

  165.       [RchTerm]           Settings for RCHTERM.EXE
  166.       LocalEcho=0/1^      Whether to echo keystrokes locally.
  167.       VerbalResultCodes=0/1^ Whether you want verbal result codes.

  169.       Redial=0/1*         Redial on / off
  170.       RedialDelay=0~?*    Redial delay in seconds (upper limit not known)

  172.       The following sections only apply to ReachOut ver. 5.X Only.

  175.       BBitMapNumEntry=1~255++ BBitMapNumEntry sets aside room in the
  176.                               cache file for larger bitmaps. A number 
  177.                               of 255 takes approx. 1.3 meg.
  178.       SBitMapNumEntry=1~255++ SBitMapNumEntry sets aside room in the
  179.                               cache file for smaller bitmaps. A number 
  180.                               of 255 takes approx. 1.3 meg.

  182.       [Script]
  183.       WinX=X              Sets the X coordinate of the script window
  184.                           when invoked.
  185.       WinY=X              Sets the Y coordinate of the script window

  187.       Editor=string       Path and filename of editor to use for

  189.       Path=string         Path in which to store script files

  191.       [DosHost]           Settings for DOS support when shelled from a
  192.                           Windows Host.

  195.       BackgroundFileXfer=0/-1  Allow background file transfers in DOS
  196.       ScreenSizeX=X       DOS screen horizontal text support (ie. 80

  246.       ComDrvCompatible=0/1     Is Modem compatible w/ Windows Comm.drv

  277.       CTSTimeout=X             Maximum time to wait for CTS signal
  278.       AutoBaud=0/1             Set Serial autobaud selection mode,

  280.       Debug=0/1++           Set debug mode, allows connection to continue

  311.       The following sections will appear as different connection types
  312.       are chosen. These parameters have the same meanings as described
  313.       in the [Communications] section above. They are put into that
  314.       section when the specific connection type is switched to. This
  315.       makes it easier to switch between different connection types
  316.       without needing to remember all of the parameters. Not all
  317.       entries may be present in your REACHOUT.INI as certian settings
  318.       apply only to certian connection types (ie. LANAdapter= will only
  319.       appear if configured for Netbios).
